Collaboration with the regional business sector is part of Puerto Antofagasta’s work to connect port development with local capabilities and needs. With this aim, it presented its procurement procedures, port services and portfolio of strategic projects at the Annual Members’ Meeting of the Asociación de Industriales de Antofagasta (AIA).
The presentation detailed the stages of the tendering process and the technical and financial evaluation criteria for bids, alongside options for businesses, including small and medium enterprises, to establish operations in the La Negra Logistics Development Zone.
The projects presented also included expansion of the breakwater, dredging at berths 1 and 2 and modernization of Antepuerto Portezuelo. These initiatives aim to strengthen infrastructure within and outside the port and improve operating conditions for international trade.
Participation in the meeting builds on Puerto Antofagasta’s ongoing work as a strategic partner of the AIA to align its planning with the needs of regional businesses. Through this work, it seeks to support the integration of regional suppliers into the logistics chain, drawing on their technical capabilities, services and experience to advance port development.
