Certificaciones y Gestión
Environmental Management System certified in ISO 14001
Maintaining and improving environmental standards in the logistics system is a strategic objective for EPA. We have certified environmental management systems such as ISO 14001, which was re-certified in 2019 for port facilities.
EcoPorts Certification
In October 2019, EPA achieved the EcoPorts standard certification — an international environmental certification for ports. Antofagasta Port became the second port in Chile and the first state-owned port to achieve this certification.
APL Blue Seal
The APL Blue Seal in Chile helped us promote, contribute to and strengthen the comprehensive and sustainable management of water resources and territorial water security, promoting efficient water use. Our water footprint is primarily indirect (99.5%).
HuellaChile Certification
For the fourth consecutive year, Empresa Portuaria Antofagasta received the HuellaChile recognition for Quantification and for the first time received the Reduction Seal in 2022. EPA has committed to reducing its emissions by 30% by 2026.
HuellaChile Excellence Certification
Empresa Portuaria Antofagasta has an Integrated Management and Sustainability and Climate Change Policy that guides its management towards GHG reduction. It is also part of the Race to Zero initiative.

Environmental monitoring and surveillance plans
Medio Marino
We carry out semi-annual environmental surveillance plans in the marine environment, reported to the maritime authority.
Calidad del Aire
We monitor air quality and marine environment controls carried out by our concessionaire ATI, and by our users at the multi-operator terminal and Portezuelo foreport through weekly inspections.
Clean Production Agreement
«Mining Logistics Antofagasta Port» and «La Negra Industrial District»
We have committed to voluntary measures beyond current legislation through the Mining Logistics Clean Production Agreement (APL) and the La Negra Industrial District agreement, both certified after fulfilling all required actions, reaffirming our commitment to the environment, innovation and the community.
The investments implemented measures that have improved standards for mineral transport, storage and shipment using the best available technologies, notably the tipping container initiative — a modern port solution that made us the first public port in Chile to use this technology. The La Negra Logistics Development Zone will offer quality services for mining sector companies.
