Puerto Antofagasta participated in the Business Tourism Council, organized by the Antofagasta Industrial Association (AIA), where it delivered the presentation “The cruise industry: opportunities for territorial development”.
The presentation highlighted the industry’s economic, social and territorial contributions to regional development, focusing on its potential to stimulate local commerce, create jobs and extend tourism activity to other municipalities in the region.
The event also featured presentations by the Corfo Antofagasta Committee on tourism in the region’s coastal areas, and by the Regional Government’s Development and Industry Division on tourism as a driver of economic diversification.
Puerto Antofagasta emphasized the value of these gatherings, which provide opportunities to share experiences and advance regional tourism development through collaboration between public and private stakeholders.
This participation forms part of the company’s work within the Regional Tourism Roundtable, the Bioceanic Corridor Tourism Roundtable and the Southern Cone Ports Corporation. Through these forums, it promotes coordination to strengthen the cruise industry and enhance tourism connectivity in Antofagasta and Chile.
