Long-term planning

Three projects. One logistics chain.

The Master Plan guides Puerto Antofagasta’s medium- and long-term development. It connects waterfront works with inland support infrastructure so that port expansion responds to the needs of the productive sector in a coordinated way.

Its vision connects the region’s foreign trade with international markets and the opportunities of the Bioceanic Corridor, incorporating sustainability and territorial development into planning.

Strategic infrastructure

From the waterfront to the wider region.

Each initiative plays a complementary role: protecting operations, expanding logistics space and improving coordination between transport and storage.

Protection and continuity

Breakwater extension

The extension aims to improve shelter in the harbour basin during heavy swells and increase operational continuity. Maritime works and dredging help prepare the infrastructure for the port’s future requirements.

  • Greater protection for port operations and the logistics chain.
  • Improved access and operating conditions on the waterfront.

Portezuelo inland port modernization

Modernization brings together storage, truck management and rail connectivity. Phased expansion aims to organize freight flows and strengthen the services supporting the maritime terminal.

  • Expansion of warehouses and logistics services.
  • Better coordination of truck and freight train access.

Regional outlook

Infrastructure that creates opportunities.

International integration

Strengthen northern Chile’s connections with Asia-Pacific markets and the trade opportunities associated with the Bioceanic Corridor.

More reliable operations

Coordinate maritime protection, storage and transport to improve the continuity and coordination of logistics services.

Regional development

Create conditions for productive activity, business and SME participation, and logistics growth that incorporates sustainability criteria.
